Peace Sunday is an annual moment in the church calendar that helps reset and renew the church’s commitment to year-round discipleship focused on peace and justice. It is aligned with the United Nations International Day of Peace (21 September) and uses material produced by the Fellowship of Reconciliation.

This year, resources use the lectionary reading, the parable of the workers in the vineyard, to recognise that our calling to be peacemakers and peacebuilders can happen at any time.

Churches are encouraged to be creative by hosting prayer stations for either what breaks God’s heart for peace or what peace work we want to give thanks for.

They are also encouraged to invite their MP to come along and present certificates to celebrate local peace work – the people in their community with a heart for peace.
