Churches’ Refugee Network Annual Meeting 2026

15th Oct 2026
11:00am – 1:00pm
September 8, 2026

The Churches’ Refugee Network (CRN) will be holding its Annual Meeting on 15 October 2026 from 11am to 1pm via Zoom. This meeting will be an opportunity to hear about the CRN’s activities over the past year.

We will also hear from colleagues in Europe about how the churches are responding to the refugee crisis, and what the impact of new and impending elections in several European countries may have on immigration and asylum matters.

The war in Ukraine shows no signs of abating. Although it no longer garners the headlines in our news as before, the situation in that country is still a matter of grave concern. At our meeting we will hear from a Ukrainian church leader who has experienced life as a refugee.

We will also hear about how certain parts of Northern Ireland are recovering from the religious/race-related disturbances that took place in the spring.

The meeting will also hear more about the British Government’s new asylum/refugee policies, especially its ‘capped safe and legal routes’ for refugees.

We will also receive an update on the work of the Church of Sanctuary programme, and how it is continuing to gain traction across Britain and Ireland.

The CRN and Church of Sanctuary are currently planning their next, joint conference.  We will hear from the organisers about the theme, location and speakers at this biannual conference.
