We are called to “do everything in love” (1 Corinthians 16:14). This means when engaging with people of other faiths we are to show them love, respect and dignity in a way that reflects and respects our diversity of belief. It can be difficult to know how best to do this in everyday life. The Inter Faith Theological Advisory Group (IFTAG) reflects theologically on issues regarding the churches’ relationship to people of other faiths and offers practical advice to support the work of our member churches in this field.
This theological task group resources the wider ecumenical work across the Four Nations in the area of the churches’ engagement with issues of religious plurality by creating resources such as discussion papers, other publications and events.
Current work includes developing research on Islamophobia as a partnership between IFTAG and the Christian-Muslim Forum. Discussion papers and other resources prepared by members of the group can be viewed below.
