Are reparations needed to end global poverty?

Across the Caribbean and Africa, demands for reparations from countries that benefited from the transatlantic slave trade are growing. At the same time, countries across the Global South continue to face the impacts of climate change, debt injustice and an unequal global economic system.

So, what role could reparations play in addressing these injustices – and could they be part of the answer to ending global poverty?

Join Professor Michael Taylor, Emeritus Professor of Social Theology at the University of Birmingham, in conversation with Richard Reddie, Director of Justice and Inclusion at Churches Together in Britain and Ireland, as they explore these questions and more.

The conversation will be chaired by Osai Ojigho, Head of Policy & Influencing at Christian Aid, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with Michael, Richard and Revd Grace Thomas, Canon Missioner at Manchester Cathedral.
