The voice of children can often be the loudest in our church services, however the issues affecting children and young people may not always be clear to those in ministry. The Children’s Ministry Network (CMN) is an official CTBI network advocating for children in the churches.
In order to serve the next generation of our member churches the CMN seeks to learn about issues affecting children in order to equip those working closely with them within Church and Christian settings. Those working in this area already have a heart for discipleship and so when they are also equipped, and therefore, are confident in their knowledge of issues impacting children they will be able to walk alongside them in any season.
The Network exists to bring together all those with national responsibility for work with children in denominations and Christian agencies. It provides support for Christians involved in this vital area of work and offers opportunities for networking while also exploring issues and themes in ministry amongst children.
External resources are evaluated and promoted by the network with a collaborative and ecumenical approach to this important ministry. Due to the breadth of experience of working with children, within member churches, the network can offer the development of support material for children’s ministry. This means the CMN is well placed to provide training for children’s work leaders; something it does on an ongoing basis.
