Season of Creation 2026

This year’s theme is ‘Living Water’ and a celebration guide is available to download from the Season of Creation website. The Biblical text for this year is drawn from Ezekiel 47: 1- 12, which portrays God’s life-giving water flowing from the temple of God.

Season of Creation resources are supported by an ecumenical advisory committee and steering committee, plus a coalition of sponsors and partners from around the world, including A Rocha International, ACT Alliance, Anglican Communion, Christian Aid, European Christian Environmental Network, Laudato Si’ Movement, the World Methodist Council and the World Council of Churches (WCC).

Eco-Congregation Scotland publishes a range of its own resources as well as linking to those created by other groups.

It produces notes and prayers, with videos, for each of the 5 weeks; a Creation Communion Liturgy; openings and closing for worship; poetry and prayers (video and text versions) and pictures for devotional use.

The Revd Andy Braunston, the URC’s Minister for Digital Worship, has prepared worship notes for the first Sunday of September and additional pointers to Creationtide themes for the rest of the month.

Held to celebrate the Season of Creation, this webinar on 1 October 2026, 6pm – 7pm, will explore the theme chosen by the World Council of Churches, ‘Immersion in Living Water’ to encourage a lifelong journey of formation, ecological conversion, and daily habits and actions.
