This year’s Advent calendar from the Catholic Church in England and Wales, ‘Wave of Hope’,  offers 25 short multimedia reflections for the season – one a day – as contributors share a moment in 2025 that has led them to a place of hope.

This year Christian Aid is highlighting the humanitarian crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) caused by armed conflict across the East of the country, which escalated dramatically in early 2025. Christmas Worship resources are available, with many in Welsh.

Christian BSL provides British Sign Language (BSL) translations of Christmas carols and for words and phrases related to Advent and Christmas. The videos are presented by Deaf BSL users who are practising Christians.

The Church of England’s Advent and Christmas theme for 2025 revolves round a single word: Joy. Advent and Christmas resources are available for churches, individuals and schools.

Eco-Congregation Scotland has a suite of reflections and other material free to use for worship, group study or personal devotion, plus an Advent calendar with a two minute video for every day of Advent.

Throughout Advent, Fresh Expressions is offering free daily reflections, including a breath prayer, a brief reflection and a Bible verse.

HOPE’s Christmas Magazine has real-life stories and topical features that gently point people to the hope we have in Jesus. Plus other resources.

This year’s online Advent calendar draws on the themes of love, joy, peace and hope. The video content, and short daily prayers, are provided by the staff and friends of the Irish Bishops’ Conference’s secretariat in Maynooth, the Church’s safeguarding office, and the overseas development agency, Trócaire. The online calendar is designed to prepare individuals, families and faith communities to reflect on the hope that Christ brings to the world.

This year’s theme is ‘Gifted’, with resources to support worship, welcome, and witness.

A Christmas campaign to see Christians singing Carols and sharing the Gospel, taking place this year over the weekend of 12th – 14th December 2025, and includes 72 hours of unbroken prayer. It is supported by many Christian denominations, organisations, local churches, and networks.

Christmas can be a difficult time for many single people. Single Friendly Church Network has released a ‘Single Friendly Guide to Christmas Services’ to help churches plan events that are welcoming and sensitive for everyone.

The URC has children’s, youth and intergenerational resources for Advent, plus a Reverse Advent Calendar.

‘Advent Journey with the Magi‘ provides a reflective spiritual journey into the mystery of the Incarnation which travels towards Jesus through the eyes of the Magi. It includes sections on Stars, Travels, Gifts, Meeting Herod and Meeting Jesus.
