Faith in Later Life has launched Flourishing Faith in Later Life, a free six-session discipleship resource designed to help older believers grow in faith, hope and purpose.
Flourishing Faith in Later Life is designed for use in home groups, church fellowships and care-home settings. It guides leaders and participants through Bible-based conversations about identity in Christ, prayer and devotion, disillusionment, the hope of heaven, lifelong purpose, and sharing faith with others.
The resource includes both a leader’s guide and a participant guide and is free to download from the Faith in Later Life website.
Alexandra Huggins, CEO of Faith in Later Life, said:
“The Bible is refreshingly realistic about later life. It does not pretend that ageing is always easy, or that the later years will be free from challenge. Scripture speaks honestly about increasing frailty, limitations, sorrow, grief and fear.
But that is not the whole story.
The Bible also gives a wonderfully hopeful vision of later life: older believers flourishing, bearing fruit, growing in inner strength, and continuing to proclaim God’s goodness. In Jesus, later life is not an end to discipleship, but a continuing call to know him more deeply, encourage others, and join in with his mission.”
