As witnesses for the Gospel, a key purpose of the church is to engage with the wider world and the challenge facing the whole of society. These challenges often require a missional lens and theological reflection from churches. In order to remain relevant and up to date, churches can turn to the Mission Theology and Apologetics Group to be informed on mission theological thinking on current issues in society, including peace and reconciliation, appropriate and effective evangelism and mission in relation to social action.
The group is a resource for member churches in the area of theological reflection, undertaking research and projects in the area of mission theology and mission practice. With five main areas of research, resources can be found on Spirituality, Theology, Reconciliation, Evangelism and Mission. Each series shares reflections and prayer resources to be used in church services, small groups or individually.
The group is a partnership between the Church of England’s Mission and Public Affairs Division and CTBI which creates links with other groups and agencies involved in this field.
