Fifty young Christians and Muslims, aged 20-25, met during July 2018 for an Emerging Peacemakers Forum. This provided training in peacemaking and reconciliation at Churchill College, Cambridge University.
The participants also met with international religious leaders, including the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and president of the Muslim Council of Elders Prof Dr Ahmad Al-Tayyeb.
The forum was organised by Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in cooperation with the Council of Muslim Elders and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. It aimed to strengthen the role of youth in societies and promote a culture of coexistence and integration.
